Night smiled gently as her tail tapped upon the side of the wall once again, a bit louder at a much more stready pace. Her paw began to tap as well with a different rhythm. Ta-Ta-Da. Ta-Ta-Da. Da-Ta-Da... Her blind eyes glinted happily as her ears perked up at the gentle beat. Her muzzle turned a bit and inclined downward as if trying to listen in to the tapping yet she could clearly hear it as it was.

(Sorry it's so short. >< xDD)

('Tis ok, me forgive you)
Krystal had been focusing on the sounds of the world outside the hidden den, then she heard the rhythm coming from the other side of the den. She turned her head toward Night, and let her senses come back to her immediate surroundings in the den. She watched Night tapping her paw and tail against the inside of the den. Krystal couldn't help but smile when she watched Night smile. She listened to the other wolf making sounds that was all her own. After awhile, Krystal let herself become wrapped up in the tapping, and started to sway back and forth. Closing her eyes Krystal started to tap the claws on her right paw against a small rock in the den, beating in time with Night. The sound her claws made were quite but ringed out a like a soprano tone against the tenor of Night's tail on the wall.

Night couldn't help but let out a ruffled laugh as she listened intently on the music the two made only with their body. But a sudden sound stopped her dead in motion. Her ears perked, her tail stopped and her paw froze in the air. She seemed hushed and silent as she swiveled her ears toward the outside of the den, maw slightly opened. "what was that...? She breathed in an almost inaudible tone. Her blind eyes were looking strait forward like they were when Night had padded into the den yet her focus was well away from where her eyes directed. Something had moved in the bushes a few tail-lengths away from the entrance of the den and Night had surely heard it, yet it seemed like an illusion behind the sound they had been making earlier. Was I just imagining it? She thought over and over in her head.

Kyrstal laughed with Night and was taken about by the silence that followed from her companion. She felt herself tense up as she watched the hair on Night's back as she stiffened. She spoke. Krystal was horrified that she didn't hear anything. How foolish she was, letting her guard down while she was in the free lands. She quietly turned her head to the front of the den, turning her head so her right would be able to see whatever would come through the den. She brought her hearing to full focus, concentrating on sounds coming from the entrance. It was completely quiet inside, and it was as if the intruder had noticed their silence.
Krystal then switched to using her nose, trying to pick up a different scent. The wind blew a light breeze inside the den and Krystal indeed caught the scent of another. She bared her teeth in a silent snarl. He tapped her claws twice on a stone, telling Night she heard something. And as Krystal tapped the stone, she heard the shuffle of paws on the dirt outside. She silently rose to her feet, crawling along the floor of the den. She quietly passed by Night. Through the small gaps in the vines Krystal saw brown color, of something big in front of the entrance. Without any warning at all, Krystal growled and lunged out of the den, and tackled the intruder. She felt her teeth sink into flesh, Krystal whipped her head to the side violently, hearing the sound of breaking bones.
She released her teeth from her victim when she felt it stop moving, then looked down to see what she killed. It was a young female deer, probably not more than two turns old. She heard herself chuckle then laugh.
"It is all right, Night. I have caught us dinner."
She called out, laughing.
"We were scared out of our minds by a doe."
Krystal then sank her teeth into the back leg of the deer, and pulled it to the vines, sliding it in part way.

Night tensed up again, leaping to her paws as Krystal had lunged forward. She had expected to hear a cry of pain and a mighty roar but the siduation seemed not. Night's ears flattened as she winced at the sound of cracking bones. Was that the bones of my new-found companion? She thought to herself as she too got ready to leap. Her muscles bunched up as she crouched down, baring her teeth, ears perked, blind eyes peering into the bushes. This time her gaze seemed to actually be focused in the area that the danger was happening- danger or not. But she had no idea what lay in the bushes.

But as Krystal slowly crept out with the doe, Night relaxed with a gentle sigh of relief to the she-wolf's comforting words and the smell of a new kill. She laughed once more at her alarm at the most innocent of all creatures yet that was how Night usually was. She had grown to be cautious out in the wild and loosing her sight made it all the worse.

Night lowered her head to sniff the new kill before her blind eyes seemed to focus else-where once again. She let out another echoing laugh. "Well, a kill is a kill." She replied wagging her tail happily. "And that was a good one." She congradulated before taking a large bite out of the abdomen area. Her tail continued to wag on as the seeming danger passed and all was fine once again. Gave us quite a scare!

(Holy crap! I was a gone a long time! One thing I hated about school. Had to leave all my RP sites. I am back, for now. Until papers are due. Oh how I missed RPing!)

Krystal ate contently, feeling the still-warm meat of the doe slide down her throat and to her gullet. This one had been lithe and healthy, the way a meal should be. She could here Night eating her fill of the doe as well. The aroma of the kill was the most enticing scent caught in her nostrils ever since the night with the moutain-lion.
As Krystal finished the chuck of doe in her mouth, she slowly got to her feet, shook her fur and gently trotted off into the woods. Every couple of strides, she would stop, smell the air and look around with her good eye, always cautious of other predators' scents. The smell of blood always brought the hungry from their hiding places. Krystal wondered through the thiket under she found what see was looking for. Putting her nose to the ground, the sweet scent of mint plants made her hostrils tickle and she sneezed. Too much at once. She clipped a couple plants with her teeth, and gently gathered them up in her maw. Trotting back, Krystal stopped at a small spring that collected rain water, and ground water that the clay pushed through the surface. She lapped up her fill, picked up the mint plants and continued her way back to where Night as the rest of their prey laid.
