Wolves of the Abyss :: Aria Packlands :: Aria Packlands (1 Viewing)

[ ]Swynhedge::
The borders of the land; the place where all wolves must pass to be accepted into the pack. There the wolves meet the Alpha of the land, or if they'd like to test their skill to invade and see what her jaws can do. Trespassers are not wanted and anyone with the express purpose to ruling over her will find only death at the end. The land begins with lush green earth, sprouting plants and lovely little pockets of flower beds, but the closer one gets to the heart of the territory, the harsher it becomes. Wind is the main factor in Aria, the element that decides all, with its high keening moan and its sharp reach very little vegetation lives within the realm, unless hidden behind pockets where the wind cannot reach. The land begins to deaden beneath your feet, until all that is left is stone and dead earth. No water is found within this realm. Truly, a place of self-doubt.

[ ]Valley of Unrest::
Swynhedge opens up into the Valley of Unrest, which is situated between Mount Moira and Welllyn's Point. The winds swirl down from the mountain tops with vicious intent pulling at the earth, the low moaning of the wind is truly heard here, for the air currents puddle in the valley and swirl about before leaving. Despite the harshness of the wind, tough grass has managed to root itself in the earth, thick tall grass about shoulder's height whip about in the wind. Beware the snakes that coil about hidden in the midst of the grass. There is a pocket of water situated at the bottom of Welllyn's Point, a place where fish swim in the deep currents of the underground river; and there is a herd of Rocky Mountain Elk that find shelter within the pocket at night, munching away at the vegetation. when darkness falls, the winds quiet, an unexplained phenomena. The quiet that falls could drive you mad if you weren't a deep thinker, used to such spans of silence

[ ]Iceborough Downs::
The Valley of Unrest peters out into the Iceborough Downs that spreads out behind the two mountain peaks. Riddled with smaller mountain crags of the territory, it is no wonder that the sharp winds are almost painful. The air itself moves here as the air currents fly with a velocity enough to hurt. the area opens up into a wide open plain, but much like the aura of the land, sharp jagged rocks protrude from the ground, thrusting high into the air. The ground splits and a few trails are available, but the air passages only sharpen the air as it pushes at your fur. If you are an invader, the land is nearly impassable, your only hope are the little concaves carved into the jutting stone for temporary haven. During the bleak summer months the air is hot and dry, sand flying off of the rocks and whipping about in the air. In the cold winter months, ice creeps along the crags making the entire land dangerous. You never know when the ice would crack and you'd fall.

[ ]Mount Moria::
The largest, mightiest mountain within the territory. Once it had been a vicious volcano that had ravaged the land with its drooling magma, but such times were past and it lay dormant. Nothing smokes out of its top, nor churns in its belly with seething anger. Whatever spirits had ruled its mighty top had fallen into a deadly sleep, but its mighty top still spoke of a harsh beauty. There is no water found here, nor game to fill your belly.

[ ]Welllyn's Point::
Despite the might of Mount Moira, it is Welllyn's Point that the wolves gather, for the very position situated beside the mighty mountain lets a call fly far and loud as the wind whips it up over the land. There is no privilege within the little mountain peak, for it is Carnallure's mind that all wolves must prove themselves repeatedly, always fighting for the position, the rank earned by them. Beware the trail that spirals up its spine for it's riddled with broken rocks, the deadness of the earth waiting to give way to nothing. At the very top, snuggled in a little pocket, nearly unseen is a small little pond of water where the fresh liquid seeps in from the underground rivers that flow down to the bottom; rainfall normally keeps this filled.

[ ]Wyvernbarrow::
There was once a time when Dragons ruled the skies, with fiery breath and leather wings, their voices a vindictive battle cry. When the last of these giant beasts fell to the earth in sickness and in death, their crash punctured the lands, ruptured the crags that jutted out from the Terra. Wyvernbarrow is the place of Dragons, its giant bone turned to stone, embedded in the land. Surrounded by two barrows, this place is hidden in a niche where only the pack knows; it is the place Carnallure has chosen for the pack dens, as bone-turned-stone has carved little concaved shelters into the earth.

[ ]Vulien Trail::
White birches are the only thing within this trail, prideful tree trunks straight and smooth glinting a pale white in the early morning light as they stand tall. Fowl can be found fluttering up in the branches, and only with cunning deception can a wolf lure the birds into their jaws. It is one of the many ways to get to the dens, but also leads into the unknown territory past the shadows of Mount Moira and Welllyn's Point.

[ ]Death's Hollow::
many wolves have found their end at Death's Hollow for the land is full of darkness. What lay within this realm is unknown, but for the proof of danger that lay littered at your paws; wolves' bones, ravaged flesh, maggot infested carrion. whatever lay within this realm has managed to keep itself hidden from seeking eyes, feasted upon the flesh of those who stumble upon them. What it is, even Carnallure doesn't know.
